One silver lining of 2020 is shopping Birch St. House & Garden's artist collections from the comfort of your couch. Our events this spring were so successful, and they helped not only BSHG, but also the local artists featured. So, I decided it was time for another virtual trunk show, spotlighting Gretchen Nash Ceramics.

Why not wear your embroidery? Show of your stitching skills! Customize your own t-shirt, shirt, or sweatshirt with the design of your choice. Use words to share your point of view, stitch flowers growing out of a pocket, adorn a neckline or shoulders with jewels... even beginners can use one simple stitch to create a one of a kind work of wearable art.
Make sure to BYO shirt! Tools and selection of embroidery floss will be provided, as well as a selection of pattern transfers to iron on. Kits to take home and additional floss colors will be available for purchase. Have a design or phase in mind? Bring a print out along and we'll help you transfer it to your shirt, just be sure to print any words in "mirror image."
This drop in is so fun and easy. Your kids will return to school with bracelets for all of their friends.

We had so much fun offering classes this fall, but the shop is currently bursting with gifts and decor for the holiday season. We’re taking a brief hiatus from classes, but check back in January when we release our late winter/spring schedule.

Jamaica Plain resident and artist Anna Koon (A2N2) finds inspiration for her work as she walks the city. Her whimsical pieces are enhanced by Anna's choice of canvas: scraps of furniture grade wood that she purchases from a local furniture maker.
BSHG is excited to welcome back West Roxbury resident and artist Gretchen Nash. Come pick a piece of pottery or two for gifts or yourself. Also, the Boston Opera Collaborative will pop up in the shop to perform an aria or two this evening.

Rozzie resident and glass artist Spencer Kirk-Jackson will be in the house with a selection of his hand-made glass beads and pendants. Pick a bead (or more) and Spencer will turn them into a necklace or bracelet for you. If you need help selecting, Jess and I will be on hand to help.

I'm super excited to be part of the first-ever Roslindale Holiday Market, a European-style outdoor market. Come down to Birch Street between Corinth and Belgrade Streets. Celebrate the season with neighbors and friends, while shopping for holiday gifts (and maybe even a treat for yourself too!).
The Holiday Market will feature live music, delicious treats and local vendors, including Birch St. House & Garden. We will have a holiday stall, filled with German-inspired ornaments, Proof Handmade stockings and holiday banners, and snowflake paper lanterns.
